If you enjoy singing, we would love to meet you! Evergreen Chorus is a group of fun-loving, dedicated women who love to sing a cappella music in four-part harmony. We are a chapter of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) and perform locally and compete regionally with our sister choruses. SAI offers educational, leadership, social, and of course, performance opportunities. We perform music from a variety of genres and time periods, from classics to contemporary. Our members are as versatile as our songs and span all ages. Evergreen is open to women (including transgender women) and non-binary people assigned female at birth.
We are always working to expand and improve our musical performing skills through weekly practice sessions, private voice instruction, choreography rehearsals, and coaching. Evergreen prides itself in encouraging members to grow and express themselves through the craft of a cappella singing. You don't need to read sheet music or have any musical training. If you have a good ear and can match pitch and are willing to learn, this might be the right place for you. We provide audio learning tracks of our songs for ease in learning new music. When you're ready, we will walk you through our audition process and encourage you every step of the way. We want you to succeed!
We rehearse every Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm at the Crown Heights Clubhouse, 34 Nassau Road, Poughkeepsie, NY.
