Sweet Adelines International Members

As Sweet Adelines members, Evergreen Chorus sings a cappella four-part harmony inspired by the uniquely American art form of barbershop harmony. We perform timeless classics, jazz and blues, show tunes and contemporary songs at community events and compete in regional and international contests. We are a non-profit organization based in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Evergreen Member of Note Jeannette Morse

Evergreen Chorus delights in honoring Jeannette Morse as our 2024 Member of Note.

Jeannette began her Sweet Adelines journey in 2001 as a member of Hudson Harmony Chorus of Region 15. When that chorus disbanded a few years later, Jeannette found a new home in Evergreen Chorus. Since then, Jeannette has contributed both musically and administratively, serving our chapter as Team Coordinator and Tenor Section Leader, as well as assisting with the planning and teaching of choreography. She continues to play several roles in our chorus.

In her current capacity as Performance and Events Coordinator, Jeannette is a valued member of our Management Team, contributing thoughtfully to discussion and decision-making. As Events Coordinator, Jeannette uses her creativity to come up with games to help our members learn about each other, which she executes to much enjoyment during our birthday celebrations, our retreat weekend, and our contest breakfast. Jeannette makes a point of chatting with chorus members before rehearsal begins to ask how their week has gone.Her quiet sense of humor and warmth are beloved by Evergreen.

Outside of chorus Jeannette works as an occupational therapist for a school district. She is married and has a teenage son.
